Go Vap District Overview

Go Vap District has been highly urbanized since the 1980s and now it is still being invested because of its vast area and a big population. Recorded in 2016 with a total area of 19 square km, the population of the district was about 646,060, making it the district with the second largest population in Ho Chi Minh City and the 7th most crowded district. There are 16 wards in Go Vap as follows 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and ward 10 is considered as the central ward.

As for geography, the district is situated in the north and the northwest of Ho Chi Minh City. It shares the borders with Binh Thanh District to the east, Tan Binh District to the west, District 12 to the north and the west, and Phu Nhuan District to the south. 

How to Get to Go Vap District

The district is about 7 kilometers away from the Tan Son Nhat International Airport and there are many taxis and rental cars available in front of the airport. It is better to opt for a taxi if you don't know the way around the city. If you are in District 1, which is 12 kilometers from Go Vap District, you can go by bus route 18, which takes you about 1 hour. The traffic during the rush hours leading to Go Vap can get heavily congested, so it can take you up to 1 hour 30 minutes or more when getting there by motorbike or car.
